Home MRI QEEG/EEG Lumbar Puncture EMG Evoked Potentials

State of the art equipment is available for diagnosis of neurological disorders. Everything from QEEG/EEG to evoked potential testing to EMG and Nerve Conduction can be done on the premises at Weiss and Newberry Medical Associates.

We have state-of the art imaging capabilities.  The open bore MRI scanner is the most up-to date in Brevard County and the only MRI facility in Palm Bay. In conjunction with our integrated Philosophy we specialize in treating claustrophobic patients. In addition to being open our facility is specially designed and out technicians have recieved extensive training in helping those patients get through an MRI with the least amount of stress.

QEEG/EEG

Electroencephalogram (EEG) or Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) can be used to analyze brain function which in turn can provide the clinician with answers to such questions as: the origin of a seizure, the degree of a concussion following head trauma or whether or not there is evidence of early changes consistent with Alzheimer's diseases.

EMG/ Nerve Conduction Studies

Electromyography (EMG) / Nerve conduction velocity (NCV) studies that test the integrity of peripheral nerves, nerve roots and muscles.  These studies are particularly useful in diagnosing such conditions as entrapment neuropathiues, carpal tunnel, peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy, muscular dystrophy and inflammatory myopathies.

Lumbar Puncture

A lumbar puncture is a procedure to collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).  It involves inserting a needle between the third and fourth lumbar vertebrae in the back and extracting a sample of fluid.  This procedure may be done in order to administer dye for diagnostic imaging studies and drain spinal fluid and lower pressure.

Evoked Potentials

Evoked Potentials include tests useful in conditions of diminished hearing, Vertigo, diminished Vision, and Central Sensory Loss.
